  2. Haldane has achieved remarkable success despite receiving only $4,578 in state aid per student, 22% less than the average Westchester/Putnam School District. For the HCSD, that represents a funding difference of $1.1 million.

  3. State Mandated Expenses exceed $4 million or 20% of Haldane's annual budget - these are required expenses for which the state and federal governments provide NO funding

  4. Haldane budget restrictions force the district to spend far less per student on instruction than the other schools in the region, ranking Haldane 43rd out of 46 Putnam/Westchester School Districts.

 

Some important facts about the Haldane School Foundation
 

  1. The Haldane School Foundation (HSF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has worked for 15 years to enhance the quality of public education within the district by supplementing the school district budget with funds for program enrichment

  2. Since its inception in 2000, the HSF has distributed more than $1,100,000 to the school, including $268,000 in just the past 5 years

  3. In 2011 alone, the HSF granted more than $48,000 to Haldane

  4. In the 2010-2011 school year, fewer than 10% of Haldane parents supported the district through the HSF
