Corporate Matching Helps Haldane Foundation Raise
More$$$ For School Programs
During the holiday season many Putnam County residents are thinking of others as they write checks donating funds to support local and international charities. Many large corporations support their employees’ charitable giving by matching the amount of money they have donated, dollar for dollar.
“The Haldane School Foundation would like to thank the members of the local and school communities who have generously donated to the students of Haldane, both this holiday season and all year long,” said Haldane School Foundation Board President, Dani Locastro. “The money we raise goes directly to support educational programs at Haldane. Corporate matching is a great way for our benefactors to maximize their contribution to the schools.”
If a member of the community is interested in finding out if their employer will match a gift all they need to do is contact their human resources department. Typically, the human resources department will give the employee a form to submit to the non-profit organization when the employee makes the monetary donation. Sometimes this can be completed online as well.
“There are tax benefits to charitable giving,” said Terese Olsen, Haldane School Foundation Treasurer. “A gift to the Haldane School Foundation may entitle you to a charitable contribution deduction against your income tax if you itemize deductions.”
To make a monetary donation to the Haldane School Foundation, please contact Dani Locastro at dlocastro@me.com or 845-418-3259. Donors can also mail a check, payable to the Haldane School Foundation to The Haldane School Foundation, PO Box 364, Cold Spring NY 10516, or use the PayPal link above. The Haldane School Foundation would like to thank all of the Foundation’s supporters.
The Haldane School Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization, registered with New York State as a 501(c)(3), that raises funds to help enrich the curriculum and support staff development at Haldane Central School District. Last year the Foundation donated nearly $55,000 in enrichment grants for smart boards, school assemblies including a special performance by the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival for high school students, field trips, the high school language immersion weekend, training for teachers, the groundbreaking Eco Garden and much more.

"The Haldane School Foundation is a catalyst to
instructional improvement.
It fosters innovation and
educational enhancement.
It offers a 'grass roots'
connection directly to the classroom and the children
in the district. We are a much better district because
of the HSF."
Dr. Mark Villanti,
Superintendent of Schools
"It's readily apparent that the work of the HSF has been to help support and enhance curricular initiatives for the students of Haldane. The strength of a school district can be measured, in part, by the willingness of such an important organization to support and promote rich
and meaningful learning experiences for the students of Haldane." "
Brent B. Harrington,
Elementary & Middle School Principal

"The tireless efforts of the HSF provide countless
opportunities for our students in all areas of the
curriculum. While we are always interested in
new
and innovative enhancements to our overall
program, having the HSF behind us makes it so
much easier to remain progressive as an
institution.
From professional recording studio
time, to arts enrichment, to the latest
technology
equipment, the HSF has funded a
myriad of special programs for our students."
Brian Alm,
High School Principal
"Thank you very much for naming a future environmental grant 'The Maggie Davis GO GREEN Grant'.
I am very honored and thankful to have worked with so many dedicated, enthusiastic people who were trustees on the Haldane School Foundation. I will miss working with you! All the best!
Maggie Davis, Retired
Elementary School Principal
